Eamonn's Electronics is a fictional online electronics store to help parents find a great Christmas present for their children. This website is a class project to showcase my knowledge and ability to input, output and edit content into databases using PHP/MySQL.
How's it done?
I developed a content management system so that I could easily store and edit all the data from this website into its corresponding database. A content management system becomes very beneficial when you are dealing with large amounts of data. A website such as CBC isn't any ordinary html website, they use a content management system so that everyday when the news changes they don't need web designers to go in and hard code all of the new information. They can easily login to their content management system and change the written content that they need to and save it to their database and they're done.
Additional Features
Along with all features mentioned above, there a few additional features added into this site. There is a printer friendly button on all the products and articles pages so if the user would like to print a copy of the page they don't have to waste their ink on all the images. The navigation for the products page is separated and filtered by the products corresponding platform so that you don't get the games all mixed up. I have also added the highslide photo viewer application to all of the pictures on the products pages so that you can zoom in and take a closer look.
